6 ways to fund your training at Guardian EMT, workforce assistance, veteran benefits, scholarships, employer reimbursement, and flexible payment plans. Most of our students use outside funding like DWS Workforce Services; in-house plans are available if you need them.

DWS ACE for Vets

Accelerated Credentialing Experience

Veterans and their spouses may qualify for financial assistance through the Accelerated Credentialing Experience (ACE) program, which helps veterans quickly gain industry-recognized certifications, including EMT training at Guardian.

ACE works alongside or independent of GI Bill benefits and is administered by Utah DWS.

UAEMT Members

Utah EMS Scholarship

For UAEMT members and their children

The Utah Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (UAEMT) offers scholarships to active members and their children pursuing EMS certifications. Membership of 2+ years required.

Applications are due by April 15 each year, with awards announced at the annual training conference in May.

Employer Tuition Reimbursement

Ask your HR about EMT training benefits

Many Utah employers reimburse EMT certification costs as part of tuition assistance or professional development benefits. This is common at fire departments, hospital systems (Intermountain, MountainStar), ambulance services (Gold Cross, AMR), and adventure tourism employers (ski patrol, search and rescue).

Ask your HR or supervisor about reimbursement programs, Guardian provides enrollment verification and receipts for your claim. Email us and we'll send the paperwork.

Guardian EMT-B Graduates

Guardian Angel Scholarship

Awarded quarterly to one EMT-B graduate continuing to AEMT

To further support our students, Guardian EMT offers a scholarship awarded quarterly (four times per year) to an outstanding EMT-B alumni continuing into our Advanced EMT program.

There is no application. Guardian instructors select the recipient, a student who has consistently outperformed the standard and shown exceptional dedication, leadership, and a strong passion for emergency medical services.

The scholarship covers the cost of AEMT tuition. Additional items outside of tuition are not included, see our pricing page for what's in the AEMT packages.

In-House Payment Plans

When outside funding isn't an option

If outside funding (DWS, scholarships, employer reimbursement) doesn't fit your situation, Guardian offers flexible in-house payment plans. Most students use this as a backup when other aid doesn't come through.

We work with you on a payment schedule, with the requirement that tuition is paid in full by the program midterm. Our preference is always to help you find external funding first, so you can focus on training instead of payments. Email us and we'll set it up.

How To Start

Four steps to funded training.

Most students follow this path. If you're not sure where you fit, call our admissions team and we'll figure it out together, there's no commitment, just a 10-minute conversation about your situation.

Identify which option fits

Use the filter chips above to narrow by your situation. Most students qualify for Utah DWS Financial Assistance, that's the first option to check.

Apply directly with the funder

DWS, UAEMT and ACE for Vets applications all go through the funder's own site, each card above links straight to it. The Guardian Angel Scholarship has no application; instructors select the recipient.

We provide verification

Once you apply, your funder will need confirmation that you're enrolled at Guardian. Call (801) 332-0012 and we'll send whatever documentation is needed.

Reserve your seat

While your funding is being processed, a $250 deposit holds your seat in your chosen class. Most external aid pays Guardian directly, you won't be writing checks during class.
